Coming up for air…
After lots of blood, sweat and tears this past two weeks, it seems there is a light at the end of the tunnel and it is more than likely the smouldering coals of the fires we’ve estinguished… I’m starting to breath again, at least! This, I’m afraid, might be very short lived though.
I’ve had a great “crash course” in Python. What an enjoyable experience! Oh, and much thanx to Neville from Muti for all the help and patience! Appreciated mate!
Lots of ppl also told me they’re finding it difficult to open this blog, cause its sloooooow. So I decided since I’m looking to brush up on some Python web developing using CherryPy, I’d move it to a host that is both fast for everyone and supports decent CherryPy/Python. The blog will of course stay Wordpress for now… If I next have a holiday that will allow me to play, I’ll try my hand at re-writing this blog in Python.

LOL* how much bandwidth do you guzzle, since ur looking for a new host
I’m python’d up.
Cherry Pie?? Mmm… Sounds delicious
That’s the most sense it makes to me
I don’t know much about all these different platforms, and struggle just to get an e-mail link next to each of my posts. LOL. Luckily I got that fixed.
Thanks for giving me a ‘buzzword’ though - I’ll use it next time I’m in a conversation that goes over my head
Pssst. Its me: danette (just with a new blog addy :D)
Thank you for your button - I modified it a bit to fit with my theme - tell me what you think

Hi Stii
Your new look site rocks! Loads much faster from this side of the pond too! Let me know how the move to a Python based blog goes, I may want to chew off your experiences!
If you don’t want to start from scratch, you might want to check out my web log project, Gibe - http://nxsy.org/code/gibe/ or http://code.google.com/p/gibe/
It’s got the basic post/tags/feeds stuff, and a plugin architecture (of sorts) to do theming and other things.
It even doesn’t look hideous by default anymore
Hey Neil,
read your comparison the other day, had a look at Pylons and it looks interesting. Any chance that Gibe is going to emerge as a Pylons application any time soon?
Thanx for the pointer though! Will definitely check Gibe out and if I can at all contribute, I’ll give it my best shot…
I’m not sure whether I’m going to retarget Gibe to Pylons - all my free time (and, that’ll probably be very little soon, but I can’t speak about that) will probably be spent on a Pylons-based CMS called Mazarine. Once I have the basic design done and a few working pages, I’ll be talking more about it.
