Afrigator HowTo: Use OpenID with your existing Afrigator account

NOTE: If you already signed up in the past, but you have an OpenID, you can migrate your Afrigator account to using OpenID as the prefered method of logging in and you can forget one more username & password combination! If you do not have an existing account and would like to sign up, read this.

If you do not know what OpenID is, please read this first.

If you want an OpenID, you can get a list of providers here.

Okay then, here is how to do it. Go to http://afrigator.com and on the right hand side of the page, click on the “Log in” link.

If your login was successfull, you will be at the dashboard of your account. Click on the “Login” link. Enter your existing user name and password to log in.

Once logged in, you will be at your Dashboard. Click on the Use OpenID link on the right in the Dashboard menu.

Enter your OpenID in the required field and click the “Save” button.

You will now be redirected to your OpenID provider’s web site where you will be required to log in and add Afrigator as a trusted site. NOTE: In this example I’m using http://claimid.com

Once successfully authorized over at your OpenID provider, you will be redirected back to Afrigator and you can log in using your OpenID the next time you return and need to log on!

NOTE: Even if you do not have an OpenID right now and you want to get one at a later stage, you can follow these steps to migrate.
