Afrigator - Getting Started
We had a cool discussion about internet users and how they sometimes struggle to grasp usability and functionality that is so obvious to geeks. The ONLY way to overcome that is to show people what exactly it is and how to use it.
Introducing Afrigator! Killer stuff! But what exactly is Afrigator?
“Afrigator is a social media aggregator and directory built especiallyfor African digital citizens who publish and consume content on theWeb. We would like to see it become your choice for African socialmedia in one place, in one bite.”
Say WHAT?! OK, here is the deal: It is a web site that collects and displays web pages (or blog posts) from all over Africa in one place. It is called “social media” because you can participate and rate content on the site, or if you have a blog going somewhere, you can register and allow Afrigator to collect your blog posts.
I’ve been on the tutorial spree once more and here is a simple screenshot tutorial to explain how to use it. The basics, basically.
A couple of things you need to be aware of before you start. If you are not sure what a “tag” or “tag word” is, please read this post first!
Next up, the tutorials:
To view the tutorial in HTML, click here.
To download an PDF document with the screenshots, click here.
I’m planning a series. The next one in the series will explain to you how to subscribe and more importantly, how to get your RSS Feeds in there so Afrigator can collect your content. (Don’t stress, if you don’t know what a RSS Feed is, we’ll explain that too!)

Hehe, sure thing mate!
How can you say I don’t have a clue? Okay…I admit. I don’t have much of a clue, but I have a blog…surely that counts as something?
Seriously, Stii, I’m signing up. Need to know this thing that’s taking Africa by storm, created by my favourite cousin…
See you on the site!

Hi Stii
Was wondering if you have removed or just moved the tutorials from the links in this post??
I receive “Error 404 - Not Found : Sorry, The page cannot be found…” on both the html link, and also the PDF link.
Would love to read them if you still have them available.
Cheers
