WTF is ajax?!

I’m sorry! Maybe I should first explain what it is before I rant on about kick-ass ajax libraries, hey?!

Well me being me, I’ll explain it in plain simple engrish, trying to keep the technical jargon out of it. So here goes:

AJAX stands for Asynchronous Javascript And Xml. Cool, but that says nothing! What does it actually mean?! It means that you can call external pages/scripts from a html page without reloading a page. Hmmm… cool hey? It gives a web page a kind of windblows feeling! Very cool… Oh and it makes it faster. Well sort of…
I think its best you see it in action. If you have a Gmail account, you have experienced it… Gmail is full of the stuff! No Gmail? Go check out the new Yahoo! home page. Plenty ajax there!

Best of all, its not even new technology. It was just never really used… And in come Web 2.0, but more on that later!
