The AMA Wordpress plugin released
May

With Tyler’s permission, you can now download the latest in the Afrigator, Muti and Amatomu plugin.
The plugin will parse your post and collect all rel-tag links and display a collection of links that when clicked will take you to the respective site and show you all posts tagged with the same tag.
Here is some changes made to the original version:
- Made the installation of the plugin simpler. You do not have to edit some of your template files in order to use the plugin. (instructions below)
- It hides the tags. You need to click the icon/link in order to see the tags and use them.
- It shows tag links to all 3 sites. We’ll rework the plugin at a later stage so you can select which sites you want to display.
- It will include tags to Technorati in your post as links to the three sites. Technorati tags are in the rel-tag microformat, so we are able to parse for them!
Installation instructions:
- Download the plugin here.
- Extract the afritags.zip file to your disk.
- Upload the afritags directory to your /wp-content/plugins/ directory on your web server where your blog is using FTP.
- Go to your blog’s admin section.
- Click on Plugins.

- Find the Afrigator Tags plugin in the list.

- Click the Activate link to the left of this line.

You are now all good and ready to go!
Please let me know if you experience any problems with it or if there is any enhancements you would like to see in the plugin! Enjoy!

Stii, great work, once again! Installed like a dream.
Found an issue, or is it my blog or post?
Look at one of my posts here. It does not seem to pick up all the tags?
Shot Imel! The problem with lies with the “ward committees” tag! Itsa buggy! It throws out the tag because it has a space in it. I’ll investigate…
Yo Stii. Thanks for this - bril. For those of us who’d already installed the other tag plugins, do we have to deactivate them and pull Tyler’s code out our templates? Or can we just replace this Afritags folder and then activate?
Yo Mike, you’re spot on in that you’ll have to deactivate them and pull Tyler’s code out of the templates.

Great job Stii
You rock!
Already have too much crap at the end of my posts. Maybe someone can mod http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/gregarious/ ? Great plugin, but no SA sites…
Great work Stii!!!
Just one thing… how would I add my own tags? At this stage my blog cats are listed as tags automatically, but no space for my own - or would that be template specific? It does however pick up all categories, even ones with spaces in the title.
@Jayx: The best way would be to add Technorati Tags to your post. I know there is a Wordpress plugin for that (I think Imel uses it) or you can simply blog with Flock and it’ll take care of that for you.
Awesome tag. Nice job guys!!!
I actually use the Ultimate Tag Warrior plugin from Christine Davis.
It allows me to easily specify the tags at the point of writing the post.

Stii - I have followed your instructions but the Afrigator tags doesn’t appear in my plugins section. I’ve just upgraded to wordpress 2.2 so I’m wondering if this is the problem?
