Web3.0 vs the Semantic Web
I came accross a new social networking site called convinceme.net over at Vincent Maher’s blog. Convinceme is a debating site where you can put two topics against each other and compete for votes. In the end, the side with the most votes win. You can also create an account and add arguments on why you are voting for a subject.
With regards to my previous post, Semantic Web (Web 3.0?) which sparked a mini debate between me, Vincent and Charl I thought well lets take it much further and go debate it publically on Convinceme. So go cast your vote on what the name for the next generation internet technology should be. Should it stay the Semantic Web or should it be called Web3.0?

Great site. All that confuses me is that, when you register (they should not require registrations; haven’t anybody heard of OpenID?) they tell you that your e-mail address will be your login but yet later they ask you for a username. Isn’t your username usually your login? Yet they seem to want your e-mail address for the login procedure, so what’s the username for? Confusing.
Also, the confirmation e-mail is sent from “info” instead of something more identifiable such as “convinceme.net”.
But now I’m just nitpicking.
I agree with the fact that one shouldn’t have to register to vote. To voice one’s opinion, yes.
they even have seasonal playoffs on the site. Its a goodie
Stii: They should never require you to register, anywhere, for any reason, maybe with the exception of e-mail and actually grabbing an OpenID account on some server naturally. But after that, everything should work like Zooomr from your OpenID account IMHO. These unnecessary registrations irritate me no end.
Oh WOW!! Oh! Lord!!.. I think I just found my new addiction!.. Oh! This is good!! Thank you so much!!!!
